The ” takhallus ” of several Indian poets , the ” Riyad al wifak ” of Dhu l- Fakir Ali, biographhies of Indian poets, who wrote in Persian, and the ” Tadhkirah ” of Yusuf Ali Khan mention 5 of them. The first a native of Kashmir , lived in Delhi in the reign of Muhammad Shah ( 1719-1748 AD ).
The most celebrated was Saadat Yar Khan of Delhi. His Father, Tahmasp Beg Khan Turani came to India with Nadir Shah and settled in Delhi where he attained the rank of ” haft-hazari ” and the title of Mukhim al dawla. In his turn , Saadat Yar Khan entered the service of Mirza Suleiyman Shirukh, son of the emperor Shah Alam 2nd , who lived in Luknow.
He was in his youth a friend of the poet Insha in Lucknow , a pupil of the poet Muhammad Hatim of Delhi: he afterwards submitted all his verses to the criticism of Nithar an then of Mashafi: he died in 1835 AD, aged 80.

” Mathnawi -dilpazir ” , a poem of romantic adventures ( 1798 ).
” Idjad i rangeen ” , a mathnawi of fables and anecdotes
” Mazhar al adaib ” or ” Gharaib al mansur “
4 Diwans collectively known as ” Naw Ratan “- the 9 jewels, the first two lyrical, the third humorous and partly the rekhti ( language peculiar to women ), the 4th in this same language with a preface by Rangin explaining the principle words: in prose a treaty on horsemanship, and a critical observation on a number of poets entitled ” Madjalis i Rangin “
In Persia , Rengin under the title ” Mihru Mah ” sang of the adventure of a son of a ” sayyid ” and of a daughter of a jeweller , based on an incident that occurred in Delhi in the reign of Jahangir.
